As part of Google’s new “Native Client” technology, developers are able to make high-end software run directly in a Chrome browser, and the first major game to be put in the Chrome Web Store is the critical and commercial hit PC and Xbox Live Arcade game Bastion.
The game costs $14.99 in the Chrome Web Store, and can be run simply by clicking “Launch App” - provided the PC can handle the system specs. According to Bastion developer Supergiant Games, the system specs required to run the game on Chrome include:
* Processor: 1.7 GHz Dual Core or Greater
-
Memory: 2 GB
-
Hard Disk Space: 1.0 GB
-
Video Card: 512 MB graphics card (shader model 2)
Supergiant also states that gamepad controllers are not supported in this initial release of Bastion on Chrome.
Strategy Informer awarded the Xbox Live Arcade version of Bastion a 9.0/10 score. The review can be read here.
