Breathe a sigh of relief Tony Hawk fans as Activision’s Dan Amrich confirms that the upcoming summer 2012 digital release of Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater HD only wants standard pads.
There’ll be none of that Tony Hawk: Ride and Shred peripheral board nonsense, as that’s what ”old-school fans” have been wanting. It includes the ”best levels” of THPS1 and THPS2.
Tony Hawk himself declared it the ”best of our first two games” but for new consoles, and it includes old and new skating pros. It keeps the ”big scoring combos and a lot of the classic stuff”.
”And yes - you use a standard game controller,” posted Dan Amrich on his One of Swords blog. ”The game will feature a mix of old and new pros, including Eric Koston, Andrew Reynolds, Rodney Mullen, Lyn-z Adams Hawkins (Pastrana), Nyjah Huston, Chris Cole, Riley Hawk, and you know, Riley’s dad.”
”If I’ve been reading the Twitters correctly, this is exactly what old-school fans have been asking for,” he said.
