Electronic Arts has revealed that the publisher has banned hundreds of users for cheating in Battlefield 3. According to a tweet, “This week we’ve banned hundreds of offending accounts and have stats-wiped accounts for exploiting (such as boosting)”.
According to the BF3 Blog, ”Over the past week, there have been revelations of a new boosting technique where players could rake in tens of thousands of points during a match by misusing the repair tool. We won’t go into details of the technique for obvious reasons, but it’s good to see EA and DICE taking quick and decisive action against cheaters and boosters.”
However, Battlefield 3 players have a new problem: the servers are down. Concerned games can check updates on the status from the official Twitter feed here.
