In an interview with USA Today, EA Games label boss Patrick Soderlund has revealed that over 800K users have purchased Battlefield 3 Premium, the paid web portal for EA’s popular shooter. Premium has earned EA over $40M USD in revenue.
According to Soderland, ”We’re actually only two weeks into it, so it’s a little early to tell how this is going to pay off. It certainly looks very promising right now.”
Activision’s Call of Duty: Elite, arguably the inspiration for Battlefield 3 Premium, has over 2 million paid subscribers.
