CD Projekt RED has announced in a press release that Good Old Games (GoG.com) will be giving a free copy of The Witcher 2 away to all PC gamers who own the game already - regardless of where they purchased the game. As with all of GoG’s games, the backup copy will be completely DRM-free.
The publisher also announced that players who already own The Witcher 2 on PC can pre-load the patch that will update their version to the Enhanced Edition on the 11th April. The patch won’t activate til the 17th April, however, which is when the Xbox 360 version of the game will be released.
The Witcher 2 was released last May 2011, and earned a 9.0/10 score in Strategy Informer’s review.
