DICE will be releasing a new patch today, the 6th February, for the PlayStation 3 version of Battlefield 3, followed by the PC and Xbox 360 versions in the next couple of weeks.
The haste for the PS3 version is that the patch will fix the severe VOIP issue on that platform, which has been a constant complaint for users.
In addition, the patch will remove the ability to plant mortars in spawn areas, allowing gamers in command centers to get easy kills. Flares will not break lock-ons anymore, which patches up another exploit. Another fix includes making the M-COM Defender ribbon easier to obtain.
However, issues that will not be addressed by the patch include framerate problems and aiming issues, so players who are frustrated by those issues will have to endure them for the time being.
The patch details were revealed by DICE senior designer Fredrik Thylander on his.
