Electronic Arts has confirmed a troubling glitch for Mass Effect 3 gamers who are trying to import their Mass Effect 2 saves into the game: those who saved their ME2 games on a cloud server will not be able to import them to ME3.
The only current workaround for players wanting to import their ME2 Shepard off a cloud server must transfer the save file to the original hard drive. For Xbox 360 owners, this means transferring it manually onto the new Xbox via USB or transfer cable. This will obviously be a serious issue for those gamers who don’t have their original hard drive anymore.
Electronic Arts has apologized in a statement, but will promise to find a way to patch the issue, ”This may be a great setback to those impacted who have been following the Mass Effect franchise over the years. We thank you for your patience.”
Mass Effect 3 was released on PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 today in North America, and will be released this Friday, 9th March, worldwide.
