Irrational’s Ken Levine has confirmed in an interview that two multiplayer modes that were to be in BioShock Infinite have been scrapped.
Levine stated, “As I’ve always said we are experimenting with things, and only if they are good enough will we put them in the game.”
The first multiplayer mode took place in a turn-of-the-century arcade machine which featured a tower defense game dealing with waves of enemy toys, while the second was a co-op “Spec Ops” mode in which four players completed levels together.
Earlier in the day, it was announced two high-profile members of Irrational had left.
BioShock Infinite is due to be released on the 26th February for PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.
