Sony has announced that there will be a “mandatory” PlayStation 3 firmware update today.
According to the blog, ”Today we are releasing a mandatory system software update (v4.11) for PlayStation 3. This minor firmware improves certain aspects of system software.”
It’s likely that the update is to accommodate PlayStation Vita functionality, as the impending launch of the handheld console is in 6 days on the 22nd February.
