The studio has taken note of those who took ”extreme advantage” of the PvP exploit, and will be ”carefully evaluating and taking action as necessary.” No more camping bases.
As of the v1.1 game update the open world PvP on Ilum wasn’t functioning as intended as players aren’t meant to reach the opposing base, but could because of server load.
This weakness has been addressed by the emergency patch. Turrets inside the bases weren’t meant to be destroyed and so now have been given immunity. The population cap for instances on Ilum have been reduced to help performance. Also there’s no more loading screen for those standing near someone spawning.
”Regarding Valor gains, with the 1.1 update, players now receive a base reward of 20 Valor per unique enemy player defeated in a short time, and this base reward is modified by the number of objectives that the player’s faction owns. The gains are rate limited per player killed, encouraging players to attack unique players, not to pursue vendettas. The Valor gains players can see over time will vary greatly depending on the activity level in the zone. This is expected.”
No there isn’t any Valor gained from destroying turrets within enemy bases or NPCs.
”I just wanted to be clear and let you all know that we’re definitely aware of individuals who took extreme advantage of this situation and we will be carefully evaluating and taking action as necessary,” added BioWare’s Joveth Gonzalez.
