The demo features four game modes: Play Now, NHL Moments Live, Hockey Ultimate Team (HUT) and Free Skate.
Unlike most demos, the demo will allow players to earn items for the full game, as three Hockey Ultimate Team (HUT) Item Packs can be won.
In order to win these packs, players can perform the following tasks:
* NHL Moments Live – Complete the ‘2012 Western Conference Final between the Kings and Phoenix Coyotes’ Moment to receive a HUT Item Pack.

Hockey Ultimate Team - enter HUT to receive a HUT Item Pack. Unlock your starter pack and play in a tournament. If you beat Team USA and win the tournament you’ll receive an upgraded HUT Pack.

Invite a Friend - Invite a Friend to download the demo, to receive one HUT Item Pack.
NHL 13 is due to be released on the 11th September, 2012 for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.
