It will feature the chance to discover a ”completely randomized American continent,” and develops the Native American nations with unique ideas, buildings and events.
Paradox are also letting us take the reins of a Colonial Nation and to possibly ”strive for liberty from your motherland.” A live stream November 7th will highlight the changes.
Project Lead Thomas Johansson and Studio Manager Johan Andersson will lead the live stream for Europa Universalis IV: Conquest of Paradise as they give would be Empire builders a glimpse into the new exploration mechanics. The first new developer diary for the expansion has been posted on the official Paradox forums.
”Most Europa Universalis IV players, unlike most 15th century explorers, have a rough idea about where America is - so some of the excitement in exploration is lost,” said the Paradox team.
”Therefore, in Conquest of Paradise, you as a player will have the option of completely randomizing the new world. We wanted you to have the option to really explore a brand new continent. So for the first time ever in a Paradox Development Studio game, you can now choose to discover a completely randomized American continent.”
”Therefore, when Columbus sets sails across the ocean, he might just find some nice islands that he can use as a stopover on his route to India or something completely different…”
Those who don’t buy Conquest of Paradise are still set to receive ”completely new map modes, more playable nations, colonial nations and much more.” As for multiplayer, as long as the host has the expansion then everyone who joins can experience it even when you don’t own it yourself. The live stream is November 7th at 8 p.m. CET / 11 a.m. PST.
Europa Universalis IV: Conquest of Paradise releases December 11th.
