Nosgoth, Psynoix's vampires vs. humans game may be a sort of supernatural version of the spies vs. mercs multiplayer of the Splinter Cell series, but the developer is making sure the massively multiplayer game has enough backstory to give the game character.
In a newby the developer, Humans had long been trying to eradicate the Vampires, who in turn had been trying to dominate them.
After a 1000 years of emnity, a new, iron-willed Vampire named Kain finally subjugated Humans under the Vampires thrall. "Those Humans not corralled as playthings, servants and fodder for the Vampires were pushed out to the edges of the world, carving out an existence in the mountains and deep forests of Nosgoth, or exiled across the Great Southern Sea to the Hinterlands beyond," notes the studio.
After executing his first-in-command, Kain suddenly vanished, leaving rule to his five lieutenants. Naturally, squabbling and dissent amongst them allowed the Humans to rise again and fight for their freedom.
