During EA’s E3 press conference, DICE rolled out the big guns with Battlefield 4 and revealed what Commander Mode means for the upcoming new shooter. They also showcased just how crazy destruction has got.
Battlefield 4 has something they call ‘levelution’ which means the map and player tactics can drastically alter after, say, collapsing a skyscraper. We’re treated to such a spectacle.
DICE was keen to spotlight its multiplayer chops and had 64-players in a single match of total mayhem for our viewing pleasure. They included Commander Mode, albeit scripted.
There’s plenty to see from blowing out support struts to sinkhole a road, thus swallowing up an armoured vehicle, to jet skiing bailing from a patrol boat. Of course the crowning moment is watching a massive skyscraper buckle after having been pounded too much by enemy forces. DICE has released a ‘Best Moments’ trailer from the E3 footage.
