The remake of Evil Dead was directed by Fede Alvarez, who is now apparently in talks to undertake the film adaptation of Visceral Games’ Dante’s Inferno. It was that action thingy from 2010, remember?
Universal Pictures is said to be exchanging audio-based communication (words) with Alvarez, joined by Eric Newman and producer Marc Abraham of Robocop (the new one).
EA’s vice president Patrick O’Brien is co-producing the movie so fans will hopefully see something resembling Visceral’s Dante’s Inferno.
Universal secured the rights seven years back but nothing much came from it. Jay Basu is the latest writer attached to the maybe-it-will-maybe-it-won’t project, with Bruce McKenna having provided an earlier draft. O’Brien from EA Entertainment is also involved in the Need for Speed movie starring Breaking Bad’s Aaron Paul.
