In a Skype conversation, Brad Wardell confirmed with Strategy Informer that the publisher now has the license rights to the classic IP Star Control.
Star Control was released back in 1990, but the game that really took off as a deep space exploration game was 1992’s Star Control II, where players had to deal with tons of races and hundreds of planets, complete with trading, diplomacy, combat and exploration. Star Control 3 was released in 1996 for MS-DOS and Mac, while Accolade began development on StarCon, what would have been the fourth game in the series, but the financially troubled publisher cancelled development.
Wardell also stated that the company bid on the Master of Orion license, but the license went to Wargaming.net.
