Red Barrels, comprised of a ten person staff of industry veterans, stated they have accomplished what they set out to do, create ”a game that traps players in the uncomfortable space between fear and intrigue.”
The player will be taking on the role of a reporter named Miles Upshur, who is reporting to an anonymous tip about the Mount Massive Asylum, where they stumble upon a bloody crime scene. As you might expect, things go downhill from there.
Outlast was revealed back in October 2012 and demoed at this past E3 2013. Check out the game’s debut trailer in the video below.
