Until additional worlds are brought online, Square hopes to lessen the woe for those already committed by stopping new users from clogging the system even further. It’s subscription-based.
That a sub MMO is proving so vastly popular after a relaunch could mean Square are back on track - or it would if servers weren’t sparking.
”As a temporary measure, we will halt sales of Final Fantasy 14: A Realm Reborn’s digital download products so we can accommodate all of those wishing to play,” Square Enix said. ”We are working to expand our server capacity in the coming days. We sincerely apologise for the inconvenience this causes.”
The original Final Fantasy XIV was ended November 11th, 2012. Square committed to completely overhauling the game after it failed to inspire much of the Final Fantasy community. An all new engine, new server system, new user interface and more were developed for A Realm Reborn.
Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn released on PC and PS3 August 27th.
