In a video interview with Game Informer published yesterday, Sledgehammer Games co-founders Michael Condrey and Glen Schofield, along with senior development director Aaron Halon, discussed their studio’s approach to creating a new entry in the wildly popular FPS series, Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare.
While the new game will feature the classic 60fps shooter gameplay that the series is famed for, Sledgehammer are still hoping to shake up the formula with some new ideas. “We approached this like we would any new IP,” says Schofield. ”I mean, this has been one heck of a creative challenge. Everything is brand new in the game.” He goes on to promise ”pretty big experiments to the core mechanics that’ll effect multiplayer and every mode of the game.”
”We really look closely at a lot of different things. The pacing is very different. There’s very core things to Call of Duty that won’t change, 60 frames per second, the moments and things that are very memorable in the game, but our take on it is very different,” adds Halon.
Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare will drop on November 4 for PC and consoles.
