Now Valve is taking this a step further by granting developers themselves more direct control over sales for their own catalogue of titles, otherwise they can leave it to Valve.
It’s an important milestone for Steam as the company that built it relinquishes control just that bit more, and Steam tags even empower users to label games collectively.
These new pricing tools aren’t available just yet but Valve has given their partners the nod that this is their intention through the Steamworks Development forums recently. Now studios can create their own sales campaigns, but for those not interested in such micro-management an opt-in remains for the more traditional sales events.
