Blizzard’s premier free-to-play card game has been getting a wealthy supply of new content and support in order to keep it at the head of the virtual card game pack. Blizzard is keeping that trend rolling, it’s newest expansion, The League of Explorers, has been announced and launches November 12th.
The announcement was made at Blizzcon along a cinematic trailer for the game which also featured an official website for the expansion.
Wacky to say the least, but the website shares quite a bit of info on what we can expect from this new Indiana Jones-esque adventure. The League of Explorers is a single-player affair like The Curse of Naxxramas or Blackrock Mountain in which the player must play against AI controlled opponents while traversing wings. In each wing, you’ll come to a boss who must be defeated in a card battle for you to clear that wing and get its treasures.
Just a few of the features in The League of Explorers include new cards, new game boards, and a new heroic mode to push players to their strategic limits. Not everything has been revealed about what’s coming in the expansion, but it seems like it will be a fun diversion with rewards to take back to the regular multiplayer experience.
