While some downloadable content had recently been announced in the form of new skins and vehicles, Konami’s community manager Robert Allan Peeler has stated that no story-based downloadable content is planned for Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain. His response was to a fan question, as part of a longer conversation about the game.
When asked on Twitter, ”I’d like to know if there’s more story content coming. Please”, Keeler replied, ”I don’t have any particular story content to announce, no”.
While that doesn’t necessarily preclude story DLC sometime down the line, it must be important that the game’s creator, Hideo Kojima, who also did all of the writing for the game, had a not-so-amicable divorce with Konami.
Gamers who are hoping that the Camp Omega will be coming to The Phantom Pain will be disappointed as well. While the setting, which appeared in Metal Gear Solid 5: Ground Zeroes, will be coming to Metal Gear Online, it won’t be coming to Phantom Pain.
