Vanquish was a third-person shooter developed by PlatinumGames and published by Sega. It released in 2010 and although it received a positive critical reaction upon release, it didn’t sell very well and was considered a commercial failure. It’s a big shame actually, because Vanquish is a really good game.
The good news is that Vanquish could be coming to the PC soon, according to a tease from Platinum Games’ co-founder Asushi Inaba during an interview with Kotaku.
“Is there any possibility that Vanquish will get a PC version? It would be a good idea to release Vanquish on PC.” asked the question from Kotaku, which Inaba then replied with “(smiling) Hrm. I wonder… If you stop recording, I can talk about that. (laughs)”.
Vanquish definitely deserves a new lease of life, which perhaps a PC port will provide? SEGA has been working on bringing a lot of its old IP and console exclusives to the PC, with Valkyria Chronicles being a prime example, so it’s highly likely that Vanquish in on the cards too.
When will we see it though? Hopefully before the year ends. Would you be excited to see Vanquish on PC?
