Offworld Trading Company, the economics-themed RTS from Civilization IV lead designer Soren Johnson, hit Early Access back in February. Now it’s due for final release just a couple of months later.
The title will see its final release on April 28. It’s set in a future where humans have just started colonizing Mars, and you as an investor will be trying your best to control the market and send the competition back to Earth.
Players will buy and sell resources in real-time in their efforts at economic domination. Lucrative offworld markets will offer chances for even greater profit, and if you’re lacking in scruples, the black market offers underhanded chances for success. “Offworld Trading Company is a new direction for real-time strategy, where money is both your deadliest weapon and your toughest defense,” said Johnson.
