Konami has announced a new downloadable content campaign for Metal Gear Online, which is the online component of the publisher’s smash hit Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain. The new DLC is called Cloaked in Silence, which adds new maps, Quiet as a playable character, and the Appeal Action feature.
The three new maps that the DLC will feature include:
- Coral Complex: A dedicated Motherbase environment, allowing players to access tall towers and use storage containers and other internal areas as cover for tactical advantage. Coral Complex mixes open areas and a myriad of hiding opportunities.
- Rust Palace: Set within Afghanistan, the Rust Palace is a large multi-level building. The skeletal nature of the decrepit ruin means that cover is scarce, while the internal areas are rich in dusty rooms and high-up sniping positions.
- Azure Mountain: An outdoor plain under Africa’s baking sky. A small cluster of buildings offers scant cover, with only derelict walls and occasional scrubland surrounding the massive rock known locally as the Cradle of Spirits.
One of the biggest demands from the community is included in the content, as fan favorite Quiet is added as a playable character in MGO. ”Quiet is a legendary sniper who can take out distant targets with excellent accuracy, Quiet’s movement speed is extremely fast and allows for unique jumping abilities over high steps where a player would usually need a ladder. She can also temporarily cloak her visibility while sprinting to activate a boost in movement speed.”
Konami is also adding the Appeal Action feature, which is basically the ability for players to make a character-specific pose, with players able to preset up to five different slots per character. Naturally, Konami will be selling unique pose packs for €1.99 each, including a Hero Pack, a Dance Pack, and a Battle Pack.
The Cloaked in Silence DLC pack will cost €3.99.
