I don’t know much about NieR, but I do know that the people who like it REALLY like it. Yet despite the post-release buzz afforded to titles like Beyond Good & Evil and Ico, NieR never really enjoyed that second-wave cult hit fame. It was still enough to spawn the upcoming sequel, NieR: Automata, and now it seems that sequel is coming to Steam.
After an attack from another world led by an army of machines, humanity is driven from the face of the earth and forced to live on the moon. Developing their own android army, the human races fights back. There’s certainly more to say, but I think the clip of the Steam announcement below communicates far more than a plot synopsis possibly could.

NieR: Automata is an action-RPG being developed in tandem between Square Enix and Platinum Games. For a better look at how the game actually plays, check out this footage from E3.
The game is set to release for PlayStation 4 and Steam in early 2017.
