Oddworld: Munch’s Oddysee was originally ported to Steam back in December 2010, and was attacked for being a broken mess, with some users unable to run the game at all (at an age when refunds were not offered on Steam.) Developer Oddworld Inhabitants say that a new port will be coming, and those unfortunate enough to have bought the 2010 port will get it free.
In the announcement on the game’s Steam page, the studio said: ”We are now approaching the testing phase for a new port of the original Munch’s Oddysee that we plan to push out soon. The new port will replace the existing version of Munch’s Oddysee on Steam and will be free to all existing users.”
If that weren’t enough, Oddworld Inhabitants will be inviting users to join the beta of the new port, too. ”We’ll have details on how you can join the beta test if you wish, and in due course, we’ll have details on the port replacement as it launches.”
The most recent port of Oddworld: Munch’s Oddysee was the 2014 Vita version (unless you count last year’s iOS and Android ports.) The game was originally released on the original Xbox in 2001.
