With the first week of release under its belt, Crusader Kings II: Monks & Mystics isn't fully out of the water just yet. Penning Developer Diary #45, the war game's head of direction outlined the some of the changes coming with its first update.
Giving the post the wise title of The Adjustment Bureau, that's exactly what the team is. They're refraining from dishing out the full details, but it's planned to be a fairly sizable update in the coming weeks.
What they can talk about, however, is some of the bigger changes. Rather than throwing out dozens of slight number alterations in their notoriously large patch notes, they're tweaking the risk-vs-reward of becoming a Devil Worshiper with the Hunt Apostates being buffed up a little to compensate their current low worth. Those who side with the devil will have a higher chance of discovery with other members typically being more violent toward the own kind - for some reason. There's the more understandable consequence of having your neighbors enact Holy War on you, too; but you should have seen that one coming.

Hunt Apostates and the Court Chaplain will brandish greater punishment on those found to be extremely suspicious, among other people, with three options being presented as an apostate is pulled up to the throne - free, imprison or burn. Despite trying to keep things mostly under wraps, the post goes into detail with quite a few noteworthy changes to the newly formed Society system as a whole. The changes will touch all corners of the feature as it goes through initial teething pains, so it'd be a good idea to familiarize yourself with the alterations before they become gospel.
Head over to the official post to bask in its information and make sure to click the optional spoiler tag to get a quick look at some of the actual patch notes, too. There's a lot of AI changes and a robust tweak to Faction balance to be aware of. If you still need a copy, GreenManGaming has the expansion for 13% off.
