It's been about 6 weeks since the last adorable Ooblets developer update. A little indie game that's capturing the hearts of just about anyone who gazes upon its Katamari style and Harvest Moon x Pokémon functionality. So what's going on?
It turns out there have only been around 10 crops for most of the time we've known about the game. A little lacklustre for one that seems to feature farming so often in its video updates, the tiny team have managed to more than double the crop count! We're looking at 22 crops with the dev blog stating they're hoping to add around 10 more before release. Not a bad effort!
Using a mask shader method, the windows we once saw during indoor scenes (like all those dance montages) will now actually display something that looks like the outdoor world. There's a nice pull-back GIF on the main page to show exactly how the mask angles for maximum coverage.

Then, of course, come additional Ooblets. The blood and soul for a game like this (not counting the adorable player and NPC characters). Complimenting their cute design with equally silly names, we have Lumpstump, Gullysplot, Bristlebud, Marshling, Derble, and the waddling Grebun; all of which sound like something a cartoon witch would be rooting around for. Check out the full update to gaze upon their eyes.
The devs are always sharing more adorable images and work progress across both Twitter and their Patreon pages. Rebecca used the bottom of the post to tease some new interior design work that will show up on Patreon real soon. Sounds like there's also some merch due. Is it too soon for plushies? We hope not.
