Fallout 76 players have taken to hoarding toilet paper and selling it for ludicrous prices, mimicking the real-life coronavirus-led panic.
The spread of the coronavirus prompted people in various regions of the world to begin hoarding toilet paper, fearing that the recent events could lead to a potential shortage.
Fallout 76 Toilet Paper
Hoarding toilet paper and selling it for high prices is the light-hearted way in which some Fallout 76 players are dealing with the coronavirus pandemic that has shut down businesses and led to people resorting to social distancing in an effort to slow its spread.
While some players are selling a single roll of toilet paper – classified as junk and coming in infinite amounts in Fallout 76 – for the maximum allowed amount of 25,000 caps, others have taken to posing as a toilet paper baron, claiming that they “own this town”.
Another player put up four rolls of toilet paper in their Fallout 76 in-game store, then took to Reddit to simply ask the person who spent caps on it “why?”. They have yet to receive an answer, likely due to the buyer being too busy enjoying his virtual rolls of toilet paper.
While they might grab all the toilet paper they can find, Fallout 76 players aren’t just throwing it randomly around their C.A.M.P. Some of them have a strong sense of aesthetics, neatly organizing and showcasing it as you would any other trophy, as pictured in the tweet below.
Fallout 76 is out now on PC, Xbox One and PS4. Its Wastelanders update, which adds NPCs, launches on April 7.
