Ben Feder, Take-Two CEO, has said they’re going to enjoy a profitable next fiscal year ”without the release” of a new Grand Theft Auto from Rockstar Games.
The second episodic expansion to GTA IV is due this Fall, with one analyst previously having said a new full GTA game wouldn’t come until 2011, but to expect more DLC in 2010.
”Our goals for fiscal 2010 include operating the company on a profitable basis without the release of a new Grand Theft Auto multiplatform release,” Feder told investors, reports Eurogamer.
Only two episodic adventures have ever been hinted at for Grand Theft Auto IV because of the Microsoft deal with Rockstar Games. However that was for exclusivity, which may only be timed anyhow, and doesn’t mean Rockstar haven’t got plans for more.
”I would expect that there would be two more pieces of downloadable content for GTA IV, that’s what has been indicated to me, although formats are unsure. It’s been indicated to me to me that would be the case,” said analyst Todd Mitchell earlier.
Let’s just hope there’s enough juvenile British/American humour in ‘The Ballad of Gay Tony’ to keep us going until either 2011, or another episode from team Rockstar. Has the first piece, ‘The Lost and Damned’, impressed you? See a trailer for it below.
