Thanks to the OXM preview, and it’s dissection by NeoGAF, the Mass Effect fan community has some promising things to look forward too indeed.
Players will take the role of Commander Shephard once again, though it’s unclear if that’s throughout the whole game. New aliens, new buddies, no texture pops and kickass weaponry.
The mag reveals what BioWare devs will be revealing themselves at E3 next week, like whether Shephard has kicked his clogs, the new and better transit system, nosing around uncharted worlds, who you’ll be playing as and why should we care about this ‘Thane’?
Thane has been dished on, he’s a new guy that you could take with you on your journeys. Apart from being an assassin, he’s also one of the new alien species Mass Effect 2 is introducing; the ambitious looking Drell.
It seems that the annoying texture pop in has been banished by the tech wizards at BioWare Corp. Elevator or other modes of transit have also been spruced up and won’t be so darn boring or sterile anymore, they should reflect the scale of where you are.
The inventory system has been dumped and rebuilt too, so hopefully no more bloody omni-gel marathons or having to fight with sub-menus for weapon and armour upgrades. Special endings for paragon/renegade zealots, and greater more impactful moral choices.
There’s plenty more over at NeoGAF.
