Virgin Gaming to operate tournaments for Xbox 360 and PS3 gamers

The return of Virgin to the videogames industry isn’t just to publish or even develop some games, oh no, it’s to run global tournaments with prizes.

They’ll pit both Xbox 360 and PS3 camps against one another, and themselves, to see who deserves free stuff like vacations, TVs and other goods.

In fact the first tourney running from Virgin Gaming is a ModNation Racers competition, with the winner being the highest on the leaderboard of course. They’ll net themselves a free round trip to Las Vegas with three nights stay and $500 in spending money.

Losers

Runners-up get a huge TV (2nd place), a PSPgo (3rd place) or a PSP-3000 (4th place). Entertainment Tech is powering this Virgin Gaming venture. The full announcement of Virgin’s return is coming to E3 2010 from Richard Branson himself.
