Microsoft NPD response puts Crackdown 2 in June, it's 'inaccurate'

The giant’s NPD statement gave the nod to Ruffian Games’ Crackdown 2 for a June time release, but that’s inaccurate clarifies Microsoft.

The true release date for the sandbox sequel, packed full of delicious mayhem and guns, will be announced later. Hopefully by the GDC?

”Microsoft has sent out an update proclaiming the June date as inaccurate. A Microsoft spokesperson said the actual release date would be revealed later. June still sounds about right, though,” reports G4TV. They pried an answer from the big boys in PR.

The first game was developed by Realtime Worlds, and came with beta access to Halo 3. That helped move copies for sure but the action sandbox title surprised many with its addictive nature and sheer fun to be had leaping around town.

Ruffian Games is handling the sequel effort, and is comprised of ex-Realtime Worlds veterans. It’s an Xbox 360 exclusive and due out sometime this year.
