Split/Second dev in charity go-kart "challenge" to rival UK studios

Game director Nick Baynes of Split/Second: Velocity has tentatively thrown down the gauntlet, saying these words: charity, go-kart, competition.

The UK dev is up for some real racing against his British counterparts from ”Codemasters, Bizarre, Criterion and Black Rock” - if they’re game.

Frankly the universe might not be able to handle such an awesome charity go-kart athon, let alone the British isles. ”The answer’s no, but maybe I should issue a challenge today,” said Baynes on the Eurogamer Podcast, revealing no real life racing grudges.

”I think Codemasters, Bizarre, Criterion and Black Rock should have a charity go-kart competition. I’m laying the rules down now. As long as we can use explosives on the track - that’s my only condition. No, if they’re up for it, we’re up for it. Bring it on.”

In a later email he confirmed he was serious about setting something up with EurogamerTV serious about filming said hilarity. Split/Second: Velocity releases on Xbox 360, PS3 and PC May 21st in Europe. It’s the Disney published action racer.
