Now he reveals two games are in the works with two ”really talented executives”. The Prince of Persia movie occupies Bruckheimer for now.
”We’re in the process of getting two games off the ground,” he told Gamasutra. ”We’ve started developing them. We’ve got two really talented executives working on them.”
Bruckheimer has got a deal with MTV for his games studio. The executives he mentions are likely to be Halo 3’s Jim Veevaert and Ubisoft’s Jay Cohen who joined last May. We shouldn’t expect any reveals soon though because a movie is soon to release.
The Prince of Persia flick hits cinema May 28th. ”It’s kind of a Shakespearean story we tell about these three brothers,” explained the Hollywood man. ”One grew up on the streets and gets adopted by the king because in those days, when you had sons, they were inclined to assassinate the father to become king.”
”By having this kid who could never be king in the palace, he was always protected. If the father died, they’d throw him out. That’s the kind of Shakespearean part of our story.”
Ubisoft release Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands for Xbox 360, PS3 and PC May 21st, which is not a tie-in for the movie out the week after. Are you a fan of Bruckheimer’s work? Do you think he’ll be a good influence of a videogames developer?
