We’re Grayson Hunt, a former Dead Echo member who enforced galactic peace. Now he’s a drunken pirate on the planet Stygia - that old chestnut.
Creative combat fuels the games skill shot system that rewards players with points that can then be spent on upgrading Grayson’s various talents and weaponry. Grayson leaves the Spec Ops team of Dead Echo to pursue a life of piracy and booze.
He crash lands on the once utopian world of Stygia, but that’s now overrun with strife and criminal gangs lowering property values. Aside from the expected array of firepower, we also get to use an energy whip that can pull scum toward us, or smash them about.
We can also boot or ground slide enemies into the air triggering some bullet time to really stick it to them. As for the upgrades - who doesn’t want a machine gun that could fire like 100 bullets from a ‘single shot’? We even get a ‘flail gun’…
That’s fancy talk for two grenades tied together that can bend around corners or even wrap around thugs for that extra special display of ‘I don’t like you much’. Grayson Hunt is to have a Cyborg sidekick, reports IGN, and their name is Ishi Soto but there’s no co-op.
Developer People Can Fly promise there will be multiplayer but they won’t be discussing that with anyone just yet. Bullet Storm is a coordinated effort between Epic Games and their latest acquisition, People Can Fly, and publisher EA.
