Landing the guys behind one of the biggest franchises in the games industry ”marks a coup for CAA,” they say. The shape of things to come?
Are more videogame developers behind big name franchises going to start getting representation now? It would certainly level the playing field some between studio heads and the whims of giant publishers like Activision.
”Most video game developers are hired hands for publishers and not represented by talent agents,” reports the LA Times. ”As such, landing the top game developers behind one of the industry’s biggest franchises marks a coup for CAA.”
The agency has refused comment on where their two latest clients will be going next, though it’s unlikely any publisher or studio would want to miss out on hiring them. Activision sacked the two ex-bosses for not doing as they were told apparently.
There’s a lot of that going around it seems.
