The studio is keen on 3D technology as they take it ”very seriously” as well, noting its depth perception makes FPS ”a lot more enjoyable.”
Cevat Yerli, Crytek CEO, told Develop that the studio is ”working very closely with Sony and Microsoft in regards to motion control on both the PS3 and Xbox 360.” Global business development manager Carl Jones added that 3D is vital too.
”It certainly adds a lot to a number of games. Depth perception in an FPS really changes the game and makes it a lot more enjoyable,” said Jones.
”I think people are starting to wake up and take notice that 3D is on its way, it’s not long before developers are taking advantage of it.” Would a Crysis built with 3D from the ground up make it irresistible to you? What about arm waving with Natal and Move?
Crysis 2 releases on Xbox 360, PS3 and PC this year. Check out the trailer.
