Xbox 360 turns 5, over 44.6m sold

Microsoft’s Xbox 360 console now celebrates its 5th birthday, or manufactureday… whatever. That little box that could went on sale November 22nd, 2005.

It debuted with 18 launch titles which included a little something called Call of Duty 2. The Xbox 360 has plans to last for 10 years, unlike Xbox’s short stint.

Well here we are many RRODs later and that box is still going strong despite competing with the videogames industries’ toughest player Sony and the PlayStation platform goliath. Kinect is Microsoft’s sincere hope that another 5 years can be squeezed out.

Congratulations Xbox 360, here’s hoping you make it to double digits. To date the console has sold over 44.6 million units around the globe.
