With the rampant news about a Wii HD announcement at this year’s E3, one of the questions being asked is if Microsoft and Sony will step up production of their next generation consoles. The answer from sources at both companies is no, both are expected to be released in 2014.
”Both MS and Sony are telegraphing to each other that they’re delaying, to milk the current (generation) and fill in previous craters better,” one source told Kotaku.
The reported specs of the next Wii console include a custom IBM PowerPC CPU with three cores, a GPU from the ATI R700 family with a shader unit at version 4.1, and at least 512Mb of RAM, as well as a controller that houses its own HD touch-screen.
