It’s been reported that Sony told developers the PS Store would return May 24th, which is today. Two updates per week will grace the Store to clear backlog.
”We thank you for your patience as we work to resume service of the PlayStation Store,” said PSN content manager, Jack Osorno in a reported leaked memo to publishers. ”If there are concerns, we are willing to consider adjusting the release date of your content on this schedule. Adjustments will be made on a case by case basis.”
The official PlayStation website warns of the maintenance: ”PlayStation Network is offline for scheduled maintenance from 16:00 on Tuesday 24 May 2011 until 00:01 on Wednesday 25 May 2011, GMT.” Is this paving the way for PlayStation Store’s reboot?
It certainly looks like it. Believed Store updates are happening May 24th, 27th, 31st and June 3rd. Many studios are concerned titles releasing during this two week update period will get buried as they lose critical exposure.
