Sony has sent out new PlayStation 3 development kits to studios and asks them to upgrade immediately as they allegedly contain new security features.
They want them in use before PlayStation Network returns to service, of which there remains no date. Encryption should cover all personal data now hopefully.
This new SDK version will ”provide new security features” to the PlayStation 3 environment in response to the disastrous hack and data breach of PSN’s servers. Fortunately Sony Online Entertainment has separate data centres keeping MMO accounts data ‘safe’.
