If you've experienced Thumper, you haven't quite experienced it like this. VR support landed yesterday, and it's no doubt enough to make someone throw up. Receiving consistent updates since launch, last week's addition of DirectX 11 support brought the beat-heavy rhythm game to the near-modern age with small performance boosts across the board.
Speaking of things to leave PSVR exclusivity - we're finally able to download the Resident Evil 7 demo!
It's the first of a few updates coming to help players experience Thumper in an all-new way. The game was already revered for having some unusual immersive qualities to it that's to its psychedelic visual effects, powerful sounds and hypnotic playstyle, but wrapping that around Oculus Rift and HTC Vive VR support will likely amplify that feeling to the point of mind-blowing Rez-style retina-melting scarab travel. With plans to further support the VR experience in the coming weeks with lots of tweakable options, some might want to give it a wait. Others, however, can spend this Christmas fused to their VR headsets like Hollywood predicted. At least we can watch the PSVR version for now.
