8 Minutes of Dark Souls III's 'Ashes of Ariandel' Expansion Is Enough to Kill You Again

8 minutes worth of Dark Souls III footage has finally arrived from the gates of last week's Tokyo Game Show demonstrating the kinds of enemies you'll face in the snowy landscapes during the Ashes of Ariandel DLC coming next month. Heading straight into Ariandel itself, prepare to die to a lot of axe-wielding giants more than twice your size - and maybe get bashed around by a pot slamming banshee too. Tasked with figuring out the mystery behind the land's plight, you'll be finding plenty of new armor and weaponry and more magic to keep that very same evil at bay.

There's still one more expansion expected for a 2017 release in what series director Hidetaka Miyazaki calls his last venture into the Dark Souls universe. Ashes of Ariandel will appear for download October 25th for around $14.99. The season pass granting access to both current and future add-ons is also available for $24.99.
