Identifying the need for additional growth, BANDAI NAMCO are moving ahead with plans to offer up a free version of Warhammer 40,000: Eternal Crusade. Beginning with a staggering allotment of 250,000 keys, the MMO take on the Warhammer 40,000 universe will open up to curious players who maybe aren't compelled enough to spend the cash to try it out, but would be interested after giving it a shot.

Free users were originally set to only be given access to the Ork class. Understanding how this massive influx of single-class users would negatively affect matchmaking scenarios, however, they'll be given access to every class bar the Air Assault choice with unlock progress being limited to 1/3 the rate of paying players. Calling it the Free Carnage edition and opting to explain it as "Free to Waaagh" rather than the F2P moniker that would apparently give off a different vibe, you can expect the initial roll-out to go on over the next few weeks in a limited fashion before opening up the flood games as time goes by. The paid experience is still available, though GreenManGaming appear to be out of stock at the time of writing.
