Recent years have seen a revival of sorts for the classic point & click adventure games of old. With Kings Quest getting a new entry and Grim Fandango being remastered, even Ron Gilbert is at it again with Thimbleweed Park. But a more modern, almost story-book approach to the genre is getting a second entry this September - but its status as a sequel doens't mean you'll be expected to have played the original (or any point & click game at all) before jumping into The Inner World.

"We have a rather comprehensive hint system in the game." stated Mittag; "It’s built towards helping those who get frustrated or just want to see the story unfold and it’s easy to access; it’s pretty dynamic and flexible about knowing what you need to do next. It’s mostly just small sentences that let you know what to try and will be there to guide you when you need them or when you’ve run out of patience. As for what it'll be like for players of The Last Wind Monk who didn't play through the first; "You won’t need to play the first game to play The Last Wind Monk, but there is some connection". Of course, it would help the forward narrative to have played the first, but the connections are slim enough to disregard or piece together from where this one kicks off.
