Is Guild Wars 3 Releasing on Xbox? The third entry in ArenaNet’s popular MMORPG series has been officially unveiled as a multiplatform release that welcomes both PC and console players to the sprawling region of Orr. A first for the series, this leaves fans wondering whether it might release on Xbox consoles.
Set more than 1000 years prior to the first game in the series and designed from the ground up to accommodate both keyboard and mouse alongside controllers, GW3 is one of the few large MMORPG projects currently in development. Here is what we know about a potential Xbox Series X/S release.
Is Guild Wars 3 Releasing on Xbox Consoles?
Based on what publisher NCSoft and developer ArenaNet have shared so far, Guild Wars 3 might not release on Xbox consoles.
The title is currently confirmed for PC and PS5, its beta tests slated to start at some point in fall 2027.
- Guild Wars 3 Xbox release: Unconfirmed at the moment
This could mean that those hoping for a GW3 Xbox release might be out of luck.
Although the Xbox Series X has received its fair share of games over the years, some developers have complained that its less powerful counterpart, the Xbox Series S, makes development harder.
This could be one reason why a Guild Wars 3 Xbox version wasn’t announced at the same time as its PC and PS5 counterparts.
At the same time, it’s possible that GW3 may launch on Xbox at a later point in time.
Its release date is unlikely to occur before 2028, so there’s still time for an Xbox Series X/S version to be announced. Should it skip the current generation, new Xbox consoles will also launch in the coming years.
ArenaNet hasn’t spoken directly about a potential GW3 Xbox release just yet. While the platform’s omission from the MMORPG’s announcement marketing efforts speaks volumes, we’ll keep an eye and update this article should we learn more about whether or not Guild Wars 3 might be coming to Xbox.
