Jurassic World Evolution 3's Crocodilia Coast DLC Introduces a Giant Prehistoric Crocodile and More Surprising Species

Shortly after the release of the massive Rebirth Expansion, Jurassic World Evolution 3 will be jumping into dangerous waters with the Crocodilia Coast DLC, which finally introduces the fan-requested Deinosuchus crocodile species and other related creatures.

Fans of Frontier Developments’ excellent park sim will only have to wait until next Tuesday, August 11, to get their hands on Jurassic World Evolution 3: Crocodilia Coast. The DLC pack (not a full-size expansion) will be selling on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S for £11.99 / $14.99 / €14.99. That’s more expensive than December’s Wetlands pack, but way below Rebirth Expansion’s price tag.

The reasoning behind the pricing seems simple: Crocodilia Coast is neither a simple species pack nor a proper expansion. Five new species are included, but plenty of beach town-themed scenery items round out the package. Players can get a quick look at the DLC via the in-game teaser trailer, but here’s a quick rundown:

• Deinosuchus: The giant prehistoric crocodilian fans had been demanding for ages. Perfect for any semi-aquatic enclosure.
• Postosuchus: A late-Triassic distant relative of modern crocodilians with armoured skin and a deadly jaw. Not a dinosaur technically, but the similarities are striking.
• Desmatosuchus: Another archosaur defined by its defensive features, quite similar to the armoured dinosaurs that would be more abundant later on. This one is a plant-eater.
• Styxosaurus: A new member of the Elasmosauridae family of aquatic reptiles with a really long neck and distinct physical features, such as bioluminescent skins for its juveniles.
• Shonisaurus: A massive ichthyosaur from the late Triassic that’s adding more variety to the water enclosures. Those who are big fans of aquatic reptiles had also been asking for this species for a while, so it’s nice to finally get it.
• Waterview Scenery: New items allow park managers to create waterfront hubs, boardwalks, and peaceful sea/lakeside towns that hopefully won’t be disrupted by roaming prehistoric animals.

Alongside the Crocodilia Coast DLC, the free Update 1.4 is introducing the Elasmosaurus species (a returning one), the ability to create Workshop Collections that house several user-made blueprints, clear glass scenery species, a Hawaii square Sandbox map, the Chaos preset for Sandbox mode (good luck), and new quality-of-life improvements.
