This isn't just a new vehicle available for your transport plans and creations, it's a bit of history as well. Following World War II, East Germany was left with little transport for public transit. Much of its own trains were either completely useless or sent away. The engineers tasked with building a new electric locomotive had no experience with the concept. It was only by taking the old cars and retrofitting them with new machinery that the engineers were able to produce a new locomotive. That was the BR 242 and now you can gain access to this versatile piece of ingenious craftsmanship from 1962 to 1976.
